The newly formed Western Fish Producers’ Organisation (WFPO) has appointed Mark Greet, Managing Director of Falfish, as the first chair of the PO. His expertise will help the PO deliver an ambitious program of work set out in their strategic plan, focusing on marketing, innovation, and sustainability.

‘I am extremely excited to be part of this new venture and seeing what this small yet forward-thinking PO can do for it’s members. I am very please to be able to offer my knowledge of the consumer market to help the WFPO and wider industry try to get British people to eat more of the beautiful fish caught in the UK, post Brexit.’ Mark Greet, Managing Director, Falfish

‘Western FPO is proud to welcome Mark onboard, as a long-standing leader in the seafood sector he brings a depth of experience and will be an excellent chair. Mark will be adding his wisdom to our work on marketing and sustainability. POs and fishing associations are an important voice for the industry in this new age of the UK managing its own waters, the WFPO will be an enthusiastic addition to this voice.’

Falfish is a Cornish family business established in 1979 and are a key buyer and processor of fish and shellfish in the southwest.

The WFPO was officially recognised in April this year and becomes operational from January 2021.
